Power MOSFET boosts power density for auto apps

Automotive DesignLine

Power MOSFETS from International Rectifier (El Segundo, Calif.) are intended to boost power density in automotive applications.

International Rectifier said its DirectFET 2 power MOSFETS also provide improved dual-sided cooling and low-parasitic inductance and resistance in a AEC-Q101-qualified package. The DirectFET 2 devices are also lead free.

The AUIRF7739L2 power MOSFET delivers what International Rectifier claims is the industry's lowest RDS(on) of 0.7mOhm (typical) at 40V in a given PCB area.

The AUIRF7665S2 power MOSFET is optimized for very low gate charge and exhibits extremely low parasitics for fast and efficient switching performance, the company claimed.

Pricing for the AUIRF7739L2 and the AUIRF7665S2 begins at $2.60 each and 46 cents each, respectively, in low volume quantities. Production orders are available immediately. International Rectifier said the prices are subject to change.
