Beaverton, Ore. Tektronix Inc. has extended its AFG3000 series with the addition of the AFG3011 arbitrary/function generator. Offering the same functionality as other models in the AFG3000 series as well as a high amplitude output stage, the AFG3011 targets applications that require higher signal amplitude including automotive electronics and military applications.
The one-channel AFG3011 delivers amplitude up to 20 Vpp into 50-ohm loads straight out of the box. This is in comparison to the vast majority of arbitrary/function generators including the AFG3000 series that typically provide a maximum of 10 Vpp amplitude into 50-ohm loads.
In addition, the AFG301 shows the effective output amplitude directly on the instrument screen. This gives the user full confidence in the correct instrument settings and improves the amplitude accuracy without the need to measure the actual signal with a voltmeter, Tektronix said.
Pricing: U.S. MSRP for the AFG3011 is $3500.
Availability: The AFG3011 is available for order and distributors will carry instruments in stock beginning April 22, 2008.
